- Why this role matters

The Just Brass program, a community music program was established to provide opportunities to primary school students who would not normally have access to a high quality music program.

The role you could play

The Just Brass Tutor engages with at-risk students in partnering primary schools, through the provision of brass instrument tuition, participation in school based ensembles, leadership development opportunities, and in a Just Brass band.

Under the direction of the Just Brass Co-ordinator (OR Corps Officer) this position will be instrumental in connecting students and their families into relevant activities at The Salvation Army (Geelong Corps). It is expected that students who engage in Just Brass will further their musical skills and knowledge and grow in themselves as resilient young people.

We currently have a part time position, 8 hours per week based at Geelong Corps. You will be required to travel to partnering primary schools when required.

You will have
- Extensive experience in playing brass instrument/s, coupled with experience in providing instrument tuition.
- Music qualifications, including teaching qualifications would be well regarded
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
- You will be required to provide evidence of vaccine status dependent on requirements
