SEEKING FULL-TIME WOK CHEFS
We are looking for a highly skilled specialty chefs trained in Wok Dishes and Menus to join our busy catering unit at Perth Airport on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in large multi-function, high-end venues and experience producing consistent, high quality culinary itemsWhat does a typical day look like?
As a skilled Wok Chef, you will be responsible for planning and directing food preparation in our kitchens for our client's Asian focused Airline customer meals.
This will involve working with a team of kitchen staff, as well as managing your own cooking section.You will be responsible for assisting our Sous Chefs in charge of daily production to plan, develop and cost menus and from time to time be called upon to advise our clients on requirements, specialty ingredients and specific menu orders relating to Asian menus and wok based dishes.In a summary, your main responsibilities are:Be the expert for wok based dishes, cooking methods, taste and quality Preparation and production of traditional Asian style cuisines for Economy, Business class and First class passengers.Assisting the team to prepare over 10,000 hot & cold meals daily for our customersStock control & minimizing food wastage.Cleaning & maintaining a hygienic work environment at all times.Strictly following menu specifications as well as all Australian Food Safety / HACCP, Work Health Safety & QSAI policies.What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
Experience in modern and traditional styles of Japanese, Malay, Chinese, Thai or Singaporean cuisine highly regarded.Recognized qualifications in Commercial Cookery min Cert III and experience in authentic food techniques.Knowledge of wok handling, heat transfer and wok maintenanceAbility to work a 7-day rotating shift roster.Good written & verbal communication skills in English.Good organizational, time management skills and attention to detail.Experience in commercial catering or large-scale hotels highly regardedPracticed budgeting and food cost on a large scaleAs you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.What's in it for you?
