I have an exciting internal role with Programmed, seeking an experienced Contract Manager to oversee plant maintenance services at the Loy Yang coal mine.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing contracts and contractor performance, supporting a highly operational environment, and ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery.
About the Role
As the Contract Manager, you'll provide high-level oversight across plant maintenance operations, working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Your role will be pivotal in managing contractual obligations, maintaining operational continuity, and leading stakeholder engagement in a unionised labour environment.
This role is suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial setting, with strong commercial acumen and the ability to delegate effectively to superintendents and frontline leaders.
The role is based on-site at Loy Yang, with DIDO (Drive-In Drive-Out) arrangements open for discussion in TRP package.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of contract performance and delivery across the Loy Yang Mine maintenance contract
Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, superintendents, and union stakeholders
Ensure compliance with commercial and safety requirements, driving continuous improvement
Monitor contractor performance and service levels, ensuring KPIs and SLAs are met
Provide clear and professional written reports to stakeholders and internal management
Manage budgets, variations, and procurement in alignment with contract requirements
Coach and delegate to on-site operational leaders, ensuring daily activities are safely and effectively executed
Ideal Candidate
Strong background in contract management within mining, energy, heavy manufacturing, or maintenance environments
Proven experience managing contractors and unionised labour forces
Operationally hands-on while maintaining a clear commercial and strategic focus
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
High-level report writing ability and attention to contractual detail
