**The opportunity**

We're on the lookout for a First Nations Careers Lead to support Bupa Aged Care on a permanent full-time basis.

In this role, you will manage the design, delivery and enablement of culturally safe and sustainable career pathways for First Nations peoples, fostering their retention and development through tailored support, mentorship and strategic initiatives.

You can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane with hybrid work arrangements.

This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Bupa considers that being Aboriginal or a Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), s 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD) and s 28 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (VIC).

**How will I help?**

Your key accountabilities will include:

- Support First Nations employees to ensure a successful onboarding experience that fosters engagement and retention.
- Provide expert advice to leaders and teams on issues impacting First Nations employment and career progression.
- Facilitate career pathways by connecting First Nations employees with resources, mentoring, training, and support services.
- Provide mentorship and guidance on career progression and professional development.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key business and First Nations stakeholders across Bupa, as well as external First Nations partners to ensure that career pathways are fit for purpose.
- Work collaboratively with the First Nations Engagement Lead to ensure career and retention strategies are culturally responsive and align with organisational priorities, and to continue embedding First Nations cultural learning.
- In partnership with First Nations stakeholders, develop, maintain, and promote a knowledge of best practice First Nations employment and retention approaches as they relate to Bupa.
- Track the progress of career and retention efforts and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
- Analyse and monitor data and other insights to drive retention, identify gaps and opportunities.
- Measure the impact of initiatives and recommend improvements to ensure successful outcomes.

- Experience developing and implementing strategies to enhance cultural safety, representation, and employee engagement.
- Demonstrated capability to deliver a great employee experience efficiently and effectively.
- Experience in designing development programs and career pathways.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural team environments.
- Ability to interpret, analyse and communicate data.
- High level written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and report writing skills.
