First Nations Strategy & Partnerships Lead

  • Permanent full-time opportunity – 76 hours per fortnight
  • Location flexibility – WA, VIC, SA

The opportunity 

Silverchain is looking for a highly experienced First Nations Strategy & Partnerships Lead to join our Community Impact & Inclusion team on a permanent full-time basis.

We've already started the journey with our community impact and inclusion strategy and have acheived some great things. Now we're ready to shift the dial. This role will build those strong foundations to advance our impact significantly

The First Nations Strategy & Partnership Lead will manage the development of our First Nations partnership strategy, providing leadership to stengthen Silverchains impact in partnership with First Nations Communities.

This role plays a lead role in driving Silverchains commitment to health equity, reconciliation, and community impact through strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, and cultural capability development across our people, services, and governance.

We are flexible with working location and are looking for the right person for the role and are happy to support applicants from either VIC, WA or SA.

Key responsibilities 

As our First Nations Strategy & Partnership Lead you will have these below major responsibilities: 

Strategy, development and implementation

  • Lead the development and implementation of Silverchain's First Nations partnership strategy.
  • Drive the execution and delivery of the First Nations Strategy once developed ensuring that initiatives are delivered effectively on time and within scope.
  • Development, implementation, and evaluation of initiaves and align with Silverchain's vision.

Cultural leadership and innovation

  • Provide leadership and support for the delivery of the existing RAP and work in collaboration to develop future RAPs.
  • Leading innovations to embedd cultural learning in Silverchain's activities and programs, empowering staff to build relationships and work effectively with First Nations communities
  • Being culturally informed strategic advice to Silverchain's Executive and Board to support health equity and access. 
  • Build, maintain and support the business to engage in respectful, reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, peak bodies, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across Silverchain's operating jurisdictions.
  • Working closely with the People & Culture team, Clinical Governance, and operational leaders to embed cultural safety principles into workforce development, care delivery, and policy.

 Strategic IStrategic advisory and partnerships

  • Providing strategic advice to Silverchain's Executive and Board to support health equity and access. 
  • Build, maintain and support the business to engage in respectful, reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, peak bodies, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) across Silverchain's operating jurisdictions.

About you

  • Qualifications in leadership, public health community development or related disciplines.
  • Experience working in large, complex organisations with national or multi-jurisdictional operations.
  • Familiarity with Closing the Gap, Indigenous data sovereignty, and national reconciliation frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading First Nations engagement strategy or partnership roles, preferably within the health, community or social services sectors.
  • Working closely with the People & Culture, Clinical Governance, and operational leaders to embed cultural safety principles into workforce development, care delivery, and policy
  • Deep understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures, knowledge systems and self-determination principles.
  • High- level stakeholder engagement, relationship building and cultural governance experience.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic initiatives, influence change and build internal capability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of strategic documents, reports, and presentations.
