Reporting to: Technical Official's Manager
Position Type: Permanent Part Time (24 hours/week)
**Purpose**
The responsibilities of the Referee Administrator will be to:
1. Co-ordinate the Referee Rosters and perform referee administrative duties on behalf of Manly
Warringah Basketball Association (MWBA).
2. Assist the Referee Development Officer (RDO) and Education Officer (EO) in coordinating
referee recruitment, development and education programs.
3. Assist the Tribunal Convenor in maintaining a behavioural misconduct register and
coordinating the administration of the MWBA Tribunal.
Duties
**Scheduling and Administration**
- Coordinate referee rosters for all Junior and Senior MWBA competitions on a weekly basis.
- Work with RDO and EO to ensure that rosters are scheduled to capitalise on development opportunities for the referees whilst maintaining a safe playing environment for players.
- Ensure that all referees are notified of their appointments and coordinate any changes as required.
- Ensure that all rosters are finalised and correct before submitted to the Competitions Manager for payment approval.
- Input referee rosters into scheduling platform.
- Assign Referee Supervisors to venues.
- Coordinate court plans and changes to fixture with the Competitions Manager.
- Point of contact for all referee-related issues within MWBA and for Basketball NSW.
- Ensure that all referee personal, training and development records are kept up to date. Education
- Assist the RDO and EO in all matters of referee development and education.
- Maintain a register of all Referee Expression of Interest and ensure that referee staffing levels are maintained.
- Coordinating all formal training courses for referees as required.
- Coordinate the ad-hoc training and information sessions with regards to Rules and technical matters required for MWBA personnel including staff, referees, coaches, referee mentors, scorers and statisticians.
- Assist in identifying courses required and establishing a calendar of development activities and courses.
- Schedule, book and promote courses, formal and informal education sessions and ongoing development initiatives, ensuring all are staffed by qualified technical official educators with appropriate course content.
- Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed and submitted before and/or after each course to ensure qualifications and certifications are obtained, maintained and recorded.
- Assist RDO and EO to identify referees for nomination to BNSW Programs and Events. Tribunal Coordination
- Maintain a register of all Behavioural Misconduct as per the MWBA Competition Bylaws.
- Alert the Tribunal Convenor when issues of Behavioural Misconduct are required to be addressed.
- Liaise with Basketball NSW Disciplinary Tribunal Manager when matters arise that require further advice.
- Receive and investigate cases of misconduct and all Tribunal Report Forms submitted by officials before submitting cases to the Tribunal Convenor.
**Essential Selection Criteria**
- Current and valid Working With Children Certificate
- Organised and efficient
- Proactive and solution-focused
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to work autonomously with mínimal supervision
**Desirable Criteria**
- Referee experience
- First Aid Certificate
Please note that weekend and out of 'regular' hours work may be required.
Remuneration will be based on the incumbent's skills and experience.
