The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an amazing Textile Designer to join the Sheridan Design team in Pyrmont, Sydney on a 12 month, fixed-term contract.
Our team of Textile Designers bring to life all our patterns, colours, prints and weaves you see across the Sheridan products. As our founder, Claudio Alcorso said, we dream of "harnessing creative talent in Australia to produce a range of fabrics that would have unique Australian character."
So this is where you will come into show your creativity to hand-draw, paint and create digital artwork to be used in upcoming Sheridan product.
You will also need to, as a commercially focused designer, be able to produce artwork that is in line with the required repeat sizes, colour and layout limitations and you will know our Sheridan customer inside and out.

Your new role as a Sheridan Textile designer

**It's different every day, but you can get used to**:

- Creating artwork, either hand-drawn, painted or digital, in line with the brief given by the Senior Design Manager and the GM of Product and Innovation
- Inspiring and influencing design development options in collaboration with Design Team
- Producing seasonal trend boards when required
- Understanding sales trends within categories and product types
- Creating Technical Spec Packs for production
- Design File Maintenance and filing of research, croquis, and other developments and hand rendered artwork for archiving

What experience you can bring to us?
- Someone with a degree in fashion/têxtile design or similar
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite essential
- Solid Knowledge of different materials, print, dye and production processes
- Excellent repeat knowledge
- Excellent drawing and painting skills
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret a design brief
- Experience creating têxtile design for fabrics
