About the School
Mount Ommaney Special School provides educational programs for students aged between 5-18 years who meet the criteria for special school enrolment. The Mount Ommaney Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) supports children from birth to 5 years who have been identified with high support needs in one or more of the following areas: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Impairment, Physical Impairment, Speech Language Impairment, Visual Impairment and Hearing Impairment. Our students come from a large geographical area, essentially comprising of the South-West suburbs of Brisbane and the greater Ipswich region. Our vision is to provide engaging, differentiated curriculum and innovative, specialised teaching in partnership with families and the community in a safe and supportive environment.
About the Role
As the Principal, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on
- providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
