This is a temporary full-time position for Semester 1 of the school year 2025, from 23 January until 27 June 2025, with possible extension.

About the School
Mitchelton Special School provides educational programs for students with different learning needs and rates, aged between 3 and 18. All students who attend our school have been diagnosed with an Intellectual Disability and many also have additional diagnosis, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, hearing impairment, vision impairment and physical impairment.
Our school is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, with an engaging and inclusive community. Our students, families and staff are proud to be part of the connected and caring Mitchie community. We strive to enact our school vision of 'live to learn, learn to live' in every teachable moment.
About the Role
As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:

- Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Uphold values-based, ethical leadership.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
- Nurture positive partnerships with students, teachers, community and stakeholders.
- Be future-oriented and strategic.
- Understand policies and legislation affecting the department.
- Manage department resources to achieve goals.
