**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Technical Officer is responsible for monitoring and delivering our responsive maintenance program including the management of our vacant housing stock through our void management processes. You will use your technical knowledge and expertise to provide cost effective solutions to customer maintenance requests ensuring our homes are fit for purpose and meet Hume's standard.

Computer literacy is essential to facilitate the use of Hume's asset management system, and also the use of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook to ensure the efficient and effective execution of duties which include:
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
- Value for money for the void management process, by bringing homes to Hume's lettable Standard, focusing on safe, clean and habitable
- Being homes to a quality standard within KPI timeframes and minimising rental loss and managing contractors
- Assisting in responsive maintenance works ensuring value for money services and delivering on a Safety First budget
- Utilising technical knowledge and expertise to provide cost effective solutions to customer requests, ensuring homes are fit for purpose and meet the Hume standard
- Assist in the learning and development of Customer Service Officers to enable more efficient and effective services
- For the modifications and alterations policy implementation

**WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN YOU**

You must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in:

- A comprehensive knowledge of the MRP SOR codes is desired
- Ability to manage competing demands and prioritise workload
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- NSW White Card
- NSW Driver's Licence and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in property maintenance management and/or a trade background in building and maintenance or related property field
