**Job location**

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.

Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital,?located in Fairfield?just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.?Thomas Embling Hospital is a 136-bed secure hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation and continuing care programs. It includes a dedicated women's unit.

**About the Role**:

- The Graduate Dietetian will work alongside our Senior Dietitian t to provide a specialist diet, nutritional and preventative health service to meet the needs and recovery goals of the people we work with
- This role is part of our Allied Health and Psychology Graduate/Registrar Program and is supported with dedicated interdisciplinary reflective practice, tailored learning and development sessions and individual clinical supervision.
- You will be supported to work towards providing assessment, intervention (individual and group) and goal setting with individuals, their core care teams and their families
- This role will have opportunities to work with different clinical populations (from acute to rehabilitation, male and female focused areas of service)

**Duties**:

- Advocate for the importance of preventative health and promotion of an equally well framework to support recovery and rehabilitation, at an individual, team and service level
- Provide a designated range of Dietetics services including evidence-based practice assessments and interventions to the identified allocated clinical population
- Promote the discipline of dietetics via advocacy for the importance of diet and nutritional literacy as an essential component to a whole of health approach
- Work with consumers to identify and assess needs, identify treatment and intervention goals and develop same in collaboration keeping the consumers recovery goals as the central approach
- Work with consumers to address motivation for change, health literacy and nutritional awareness.
- Collaborate with other deititians, fitness staff and other disciplines to design and facilitate therapeutic group programs
- Collaborate effectively with the broader care team, including relevant external stakeholders to ensure a connected and collaborative approach to assessment, treatment and goal setting.

**About You**:

- Masters of Dietetics/Dietetics practice or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Eligibility for member of Dietitians Australia and meet the requirements of the APD program
- Commitment to ongoing learning, development and ability to critically reflect on your approaches to care provision
- Awareness of the experiences and speech, language and communication needs of people with mental ill health/challenging behaviours

**COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence**

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.
