Overview:
- Full-time, Fixed Term position for one year- Salary Academic Level A6-A8 + 17% Superannuation- Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University
- About You
- The Research Assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy. It is expected that the Research Assistant has the capability to work with an increasing degree of autonomy, and leadership of post-graduate students supporting the work. The Research Assistant will be employed on a fixed term 1-year contract to progress the development and evaluation of the nanobot technology for the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. There will be extensive experimental chemistry and quantification of nanobot parameters and transport using a range of imaging, and laser diagnostics.

Working with partners, a design of device prototype will be manufactured and characterisation of the nanobot performance is required. This position requires outstanding skills in surface chemistry, Infrared/Raman diagnostics and device manufacturing, and fundamental knowledge of biomedical systems, cell biology and in vivo assessment parameters.

To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience with experimental nanoparticle surface chemistry.-
- Experience in using computational software for particle tracking.- Knowledge of in vitro and in vivo testing parameters relevant to biomedical materials- Evidence of research output in biomedical engineering or applied chemistry including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.- Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment.- Demonstrate ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.- Demonstrated high level communication skills.
