**Project Goal**
The overarching goal of this project is to pilot a systematic approach to uncovering signals in organisational context that perpetuate gender inequities. One of our studies will examine the impact of organisational signals on gender representation, effectiveness and outcomes. This study draws on archival data from the company websites, Workplace Gender Equality Agency and firm financial databases.

**The Opportunity**

A casual Research Assistant will be part of the research team working on study that will examine the impact of organisational signals on gender representation, effectiveness and outcomes. This study draws on archival data from the company websites, Workplace Gender Equality Agency and firm financial databases.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Literature searches to maintain an updated source of relevant articles
- Mine and code multimedia data from a variety of sources (e.g., organisational and shareholder reports, value statements, CEO letters, pictures and images) from 30 organisations
- Merge multimedia data coding with archival sources of financial and industry data and gender representation, such as from WGEA, ORBIS and OSIRIS databases
- Assist with preparation of research outputs, such as a report and presentation.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Prior research experience - an ability to work as part of a research team
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Research and writing skills, and the potential to develop further research expertise
- Expertise in content text analysis, using text mining content analysis software such as WordStat, and computing skills; or willingness to learn
- Experience with quantitative research methods and statistical packages such as SPSS.

**Work Location**:
The successful applicant will be employed by Melbourne Business School (MBS).
