**Role Summary**:
The Concept Studies Principal is a newly created opportunity in our Future Energy Advisory based at our Perth CBD office.

The purpose of the role is to lead early-stage studies for alternative renewable and storage technologies and projects, supporting decarbonisation of Synergy's generation portfolio at lowest cost. The role evaluates proposals or technologies and plans for development aligned with Synergy's strategic objectives, electricity system requirements and Western Australian Government objectives

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Plan, execute and deliver early-stage studies for alternative renewable and storage technologies and projects.
- Rigorously evaluate proposals or alternative technologies against Synergy's existing renewable and storage development pipeline.
- Oversee and coordinate procurement of, and engagement with, technical consultants to evaluate economic and technical feasibility.
- Develop commercial models and development schedules that address cost drivers of alternative technologies and criteria for adoption in Synergy's renewable and storage development pipeline.
- Coordinate evaluation of future electricity system objectives and requirements.

**What you'll bring**:

- Degree qualified with experience in project development, engineering, management or business (commercial or consulting) roles
- Demonstrated experience in delivery and management of early stage studies (concept or pre-feasibility) or relevant alternative experience with complex problem solving applied in a commercial environment
- Well-developed critical thinking skills supported by a pragmatic approach to problem solving and sound business judgment
- Ability to communicate effectively to inform decisions by management and board
