The Role
We are seeking an experienced Transport Allocator to assist with the coordination of our bituminous product deliveries.
Reporting to the Logistics & Supply Manager, the successful applicant will have experience in coordinating driver schedules, liaising with suppliers and customers to maximise efficiency and effective utilisation of resources, whilst maintaining a high focus on safety and compliance.
Duties & responsibilities
Effective and efficient planning and coordination of all bituminous product deliveries.
Building effective relationships with drivers, stakeholders and other team members that promote trust and encourage effective performance.
Managing a fleet with a focus on best practice safety and compliance.
Allocate and assign driver runs using our internal database to meet business requirements.
Communicate with drivers, internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and pick-ups.
Provide reporting to managers on resource availability and requirements.
Investigate and report on any safety and compliance incidents and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented to monitor or resolve issues.
Providing support to the administrative team to ensure all relevant paperwork compliance.
Continually striving to improve systems and processes in liaison with relevant stakeholders.
Adhoc duties that arise.
To be considered for this role you must have:
Proven experience coordinating and scheduling fleet with a thorough understanding of fleet allocation, scheduling and coordination.
Sound computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Working knowledge of CoR, NHVR, Speed Compliance, Load Restraint & Dangerous Goods.
Driver fatigue, mass and maintenance management knowledge.
Able to allocate deliveries / pickups in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
Ability to deal effectively with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent organisational & time management skills with the ability to multi task and adapt to change quickly.
Strong team player attitude.
Be flexible to work different hours, overtime and during weekends as required.
