**Job Description**:
We are looking for a **Data Team Lead** **to head up our Data Warehouse team in Sydney. Reporting to the GM Technology, you will be providing technical leadership and guidance across engineering for our data analytics platform. The role is a mix of hands-on (around 20%) and strategic work and will focus on developing our data capabilities across multiple teams.

Additionally, this role will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and act as a knowledge expert for data warehouse practices.

**What you'll do as a Data Team Lead**:

- Establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to build data warehousing solutions to assist with strategic outputs
- Lead and develop a team of Data Engineering and BI professionals
- Drive technical decisions and direction within your team and platforms
- Own the end to end delivery of your teams' products/platforms
- Ensure that the data warehouse solution is a source of truth for all strategic business reporting
- Enable reporting capabilities for the organisation
- Recruitment of new software engineers as the business expands globally
- Continuously improving our Agile practices to further push decision making down to the team level

**Qualifications**:
**What you'll need to succeed**:

- Significant experience within Software Development, Data Engineering or a related field
- Experience leading and developing a team in a data or software environment
- Experience working in DevOps and Agile environments, as well as continuous integration
- Depth of understanding in database design, including conceptualisation to database optimization
- Deep expertise in ETL development, data structures, storage, specifications, and architectures
- Strong software engineering and coding skills, ideally in a cloud-based data intensive environment
- Ability to design and monitor data management controls such as role based access and performance monitoring
- Excellent understanding of cloud data platforms such as AWS Redshift, CI/CD.
- Ability to lead meetings, clearly communicate technical approach, status, assess and mitigate risk
- Experience in Data strategy, governance and architecture would be highly advantageous
