**Description**:
The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the HSET and Projects Manager will oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of an effective Occupational Health, Safety, Training, Environmental Systems and Capital Process to meet statutory and operational requirements.

**Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:
Manage the Safety Management System to meet statutory and operational safety requirements.
Ensure that all safety and health related tasks, documents and training are carried out in accordance with the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Regulations 2001 and any other standards which apply.
Follow and ensure implementation of legislative updates via guidance notes or legislation changes.
Review OH&S policies and procedures against new standards and initiatives with the aim to improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
Ensure site procedures are aligned with industry health, safety and security standards and principles and reference identified potential risks throughout Aeris organisation.
Ensure that occupational health and environmental monitoring is undertaken and reported as required.
Review and report safety performance to all employees.
Manage the implementation of operational compliance training.
Manage the Emergency Response capability at Cracow.
Facilitate significant incident investigations.
Support the General Manager in the development and implementation of long term strategic planning.
Provide leadership and advice in the development and implementation of strategic objectives for Cracow mine in the areas of

tailings strategy,
environment,
rehabilitation, and closure activities.

Lead project team members and contractors, including service providers and sub
- contractors.
Develop department Capex & Opex budgets in conjunction with the General Manager and monitor/manage the approved budget.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness and commitment.
Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
Manage performance and succession planning within your team.
Ensure clear communication lines within the HSET team and with other departments.
Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the Aeris Values and ensure that your team members do likewise.

**Management of all Capital projects at Cracow mine through**:
Monitor schedules for project work, including obtaining internal and external approvals.
Liaise with Projects Coordinator ensuring projects meet scope quality, cost, and time constraints.
Coach and Mentor individual departments in regard to capital resources in the areas of:
- Capital development process
Execution and cost control monitoring
Project close out process

About you

With experience in Senior Safety roles gained in mining or heavy industries as well as a tertiary qualification in a related discipline, you will have a strong understanding of QLD Mining and Quarrying Legislation and a proven record of accomplishment in demonstrating strong systems focus and strategic approach to creating and maintaining a safe workplace.

Previous Superintendent or Management experience
Management of projects up to $20 M and development of the required justification processes
Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or similar
Post Graduate studies in Management or similar
Certificate IV in training and assessment
QMS 1,2,3
Occupational First Aid certificate and or / Industrial Paramedic qualification (highly regarded)
At least 10 years in health and safety, of which at least 5 years must be in underground mining environments
2 years in a similar managerial role
Ability to communicate effectively with persons at all levels of the organisation
High standard of work, compliance with legislation, incorporating sound safety management and risk minimisation-based practice
Competent Software User
Experience with data management and software implementation of safety and health management systems

**Skills and Experiences**:
The Operation

Cracow Gold Operation is an underground mine located 500km North West of Brisbane. Employing 220 people, Mining utilises open stoping methods and feeds a 570 ktpa, conventional crush grind CIP to produce gold-silver doré.
