About the role
Red Cross assists individuals and communities before, during, and after emergencies to cope with and manage psychosocial impacts.
This Emergency Services Recovery Officer role focuses on training delivery and capability development in disaster recovery across Queensland.
You will facilitate training packages and activities to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
Collaboration with local councils, community organizations, and volunteers is essential to build knowledge, capability, and confidence before disasters occur.
You may also assist Red Cross Emergency Services during disaster response to address immediate community needs.
The position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
You will bring
Relevant four-year degree with one year of relevant experience, or three-year degree with two years of relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience
Experience in emergency management, project management, or community engagement/development
Experience in delivering training activities
Proven ability to deliver project/program outcomes
Ability to support communities before, during, or after disasters
Effective collaboration skills with diverse stakeholders
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (verbal and written)
Mandatory Requirements
A Blue Card (working with children clearance) is required for this role.
