**Position Information**:
Lisarow High School is a comprehensive 7-12 school with an enrolment of 760 students. Approximately 4% of students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our school also has a Support Unit catering for 2 Multi-Categorical classes and 1 Emotional Disorder class. Lisarow High School is on Darkinjung land and sits on picturesque grounds in close proximity to the Pacific Highway. Our core values are embedded into our curriculum and wellbeing programs with a focus on Strive: Respect, Resposibility, Integrity and Commitment. Positive partnerships exist between the school and its partner schools
- Lisarow, Ourimbah, Narara, Valley View and Niagara Park Public Schools. Combined, these schools work together as the Valley Schools Learning Community. The school works in close partnership with its community, supported by an active Parents and Citizens Association and Cooinda Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. The school offers targeted intake classes including Enrichment, Technology Opportunity, Creative and Performing Arts Academy, Sports Academy and Dance Academy and students are offered a broad curriculum choice in Stages 5 & 6.The school offers a well-rounded wellbeing program for students, led by a committed Learning Support Team. The school has a depth of experienced teachers with 5% of teachers early in their career. The school achieves strong sporting results in a variety of fields and models a balance between extra-curricular and curricular activities, supporting the development of well round students. The school has a proud history of fostering a positive learning environment towards academic and sporting success. Demonstrated initiative and ability to effectively design, lead and evaluate evidenced-based and data-informed practices aligned to the school improvement plan with a view to meeting and exceeding negotiated targets.

A highly visible leader with demonstrated outstanding interpersonal, communication and skills in systems and processes to manage the complex day to day operations of the school including student and staff wellbeing and student behaviour.

Proactive, approachable and responsive leadership with proven ability to actively engage students, parents and our diverse community in collaborative strategies that facilitate growth in student attendance, engagement, wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Outstanding instructional leadership to develop quality teaching and learning structures and practices which builds a culture of high expectations and professional collaboration that embeds a culture of improvement and high impact teaching practices.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice

2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs

3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams

4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents

5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning

6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
