About Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH), operated by Healthscope, is located in Frenchs Forest in Northern Sydney, 13km north of the CBD. NBH is a contemporary 488-bed facility comprising 60% public and 40% private beds. We provide a wide range of health services including Surgery, Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients. NBH has thirteen operating theatres, a hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, supported by a critical care unit with two intensive care wards. The Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant – Diabetes is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the clinical service, aligning with the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of our services. The CNC ensures that all care elements associated with the relevant clinical standard are in place, evidence-based and continually evaluated. The CNC focuses on implementing dynamic harm reduction strategies for patients, with a specific emphasis on clinical deterioration. The CNC will be an expert practitioner linking evidence and research to clinical practice, with a strong ability to influence models of care. The CNC provides expert clinical care and advice to patients, healthcare professionals and carers in relation to best practice. The CNC develops, facilitates, implements and evaluates care plans in consultation with Visiting Medical Officers, Staff Specialists, Junior Medical Officers and nursing and allied health teams.
To Be Successful
Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent as applicable & a post graduate qualification in the specialty field
At least 5 years full time post-registration experience and at least 3 years' experience in the specialty field
Credentialed Diabetes Educator
Desirable Qualifications
Research experience
Experience working in the private health system

Salary: A base rate of $66.30/hour, based on years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024.
