Our client is seeking a Database Administrator to join their team for a 6-month contract opportunity. You will work to deliver database management for our client's technology platform, with a focus on pro-active management and the execution of their strategic technology roadmap.

Within this role you will have scope to address technology platform problems and act as an escalation point within the technology operations department.
You will actively collaborate with key stakeholders to the correct outcomes are being achieved, working closely with Risk, Governance and Compliance teams as well as other customer facing business units to ensure continuity of services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Identifying areas for efficiency gains and working with the Technical Lead to implement improvements.
- Plan, manage and execute activities to ensure the technology systems maintain high levels of availability, stability and currency as well as executing against the technology roadmap.
- Monitor, maintain and report on the health of technology services and systems.
- Conduct problem scoping, investigation, resolution, and reporting.
- Consistently identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the technology environment.
- Provide Disaster Recovery procedures and participate in testing as required by the ICT Manager Disaster Recovery.
- Provide solutions, options and advise ensuring cost effective outcomes for the operations of the technology systems.

**Skills**:

- 3-5 years demonstrated experience in analysis, design, and development of enterprise grade technology infrastructure.
- Experience in the principles for Microsoft SQL Server RDBMS 2012 or above.
- Experience in the principles for Oracle RDBMS version 12C or above.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c and above with Oracle Exadata, Oracle RAC and Dataguard.
- Computer systems experience in Oracle Exadata.
- Understanding and experience in both SQL and NOSQL technologies including MongoDB.
- Strong administration skills in server-based systems (Windows / Linux).
- Strong administration skills in virtualisation (VMWare, Amazon, and Azure).
- Strong skills in cloud-based services (Amazon, and Azure).
