Job no : 943655Work type : Permanent / Full timeLocation : Support Office - DocklandsKnown as a Technologist internally within our business, Myer is looking for a Menswear Garment Technologist who will align with our QA & Merchandise strategy, provide technical advice and expertise in areas of trend, quality, fit, sourcing and compliance.You will work collaboratively with Buyers, Product Developers and relevant stakeholders to optimise product quality, production processes and financial returns to the business.Full Time permanent role to join a collaborative team and gain exposure to different parts of the businessContribute to products at the design phase & bring them to lifeHybrid working model – Docklands-based office and the comfort of your own home
About the Role :Develop and maintain detailed product specifications for Agents / Suppliers with clear instruction relating to fit / size, workmanship, quality and construction details.Ensure all approved apparel products meet legal, safety, and company standard requirements, by making commercial judgments in relation to products.Update and maintain detailed technical and performance standards for key stakeholders.Organise and conduct effective fit sessions to provide technical advice and corrections to fit, design and construction to all stakeholder, and deliver a 3 day turnaround from sample received date.Manage product quality, as per BRAND DNA through store audits, customer feedback and benchmarking industry standardsMentor, educate & share knowledge & learnings with buying teams and QA teamAbout You :2 years+ experience in a Garment Technologist role within a wholesale or retail environment - experience in Menswear highly regardedDemonstrated experience in woven / cut & sewn and fully fashioned knitwear product typesTertiary qualification in garment manufacture and or patternmakingProficiency in Excel, formulas and spreadsheetsStrong organisations skills with ability to prioritise and multitaskSound understanding of body shape, grade and proportions and a detailed eye for balance, styling, and qualityAbility to build and maintain positive, productive relationships with multiple stakeholders and work cross-functionallyA confident, enthusiastic, self-motivated team playerBenefits to you :Generous team member discounts on all Myer products, including team-member exclusive discountsAccess to lifestyle leave and volunteer leave – arrange work around your life, not life around work
