**Location**:48 Holmes Road, Munster, WA

**Role**:
The role is responsible for planting, cultivating and harvesting trees, shrubs, ornamental and flowering plants in plant nurseries.

**Responsibilities**
- Preparing potting mix, soil and garden beds, by digging and raking to ready for planting
- Choosing the best seeds, plant bulbs and cuttings and planting them in the best possible place
- Transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings
- Use different techniques such as grafting, layering and seed planting to propagate new plants.
- Maintain and repair nursery equipment and tools to ensure safe and effective use.
- Watering plants and checking the automatic irrigation systems in place regularly to ensure plants are thriving
- Spray trees, shrubs and plants to prevent diseases and pests
- Tie and bunch flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees; wrap their roots; and pack them into boxes to fill orders.
- Keeping records of plants and plant growth, soil mixtures and treatments and evaluate the quality of the crops
- Prune and trim plants to encourage healthy growth and maintain desired shapes
- Selecting and packaging plants dispatch and delivery
- Assist customers on selecting the appropriate plants for their use and advising on maintaining and cultivating the plants

Operate tractors and other machinery and equipment to fertilize, cultivate, harvest, and spray fields and plants.

**Requirements**:
Minimum AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV.

At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.

Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
