Optimize Linux for Emerging Hardware Platforms
About the Role:
We're seeking an accomplished Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in developing and implementing optimized Linux solutions for the latest hardware platforms.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead a distributed team of engineers to design and implement high-quality Linux integration for emerging IoT and server-class hardware platforms.
Foster strong partnerships with commercial entities to deliver exceptional, customized Linux experiences on their platforms.
Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and providing constructive feedback.
Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely project milestones are met.
Maintain strict quality and reliability standards across all projects.
Collaborate with other teams at Canonical to align product architecture and roadmaps.
Key Requirements:
You have hands-on experience with Linux distributions, Debian packaging, and high-performance server-class hardware.
You've worked directly with customers, resolving technical issues, interpreting business challenges, and effectively communicating solution benefits.
You've demonstrated leadership experience managing or leading software engineering teams.
You're familiar with agile software development methodologies.
You excel at collaborating cross-functionally, building trust, and delivering results.
You possess effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
You hold a bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in a technology field.
