Neoen is developing a large pipeline of wind, solar, and storage projects in Australia.
To support the delivery of these projects, Neoen is seeking a VIE - Project Developer to assist its NSW Development team in identifying and developing new wind, solar, and battery projects.This role will interact with Neoen's Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and Energy Management teams, as well as with the management team.
The Project Developer will lead engagement with key stakeholders such as landowners, communities, and local councils, and will be responsible for all primary and secondary project approvals.
They will also prepare financial assumptions for their projects and contribute to Neoen's responses to tenders for energy or services, such as CIS or LTESA.The Project Developer will support Neoen's development activities and pipeline growth in NSW by:Conducting research and mapping prospective locations for new wind, solar, and battery energy projectsManaging tasks, deadlines, and priorities using project and contract management skillsAssessing and participating in public and private tenders for electricity and firming contractsNetworking within the industry to identify and foster project partnershipsPerforming other duties as requiredThe Project Developer will assist or manage one or more of Neoen's renewable energy projects, involving:Leading and coordinating all workstreams required for financial close and project commencementNegotiating land agreements (e.g., options to lease, purchase, easements) with landowners, NSPs, and solicitorsNegotiating contracts with councils and stakeholders for community financial benefit sharingNegotiating connection and service agreements with NSPsManaging and reviewing reports from consultants and overseeing technical discussionsLiaising with experts on site surveys and environmental studiesManaging civil and electrical designers to ensure project optimization and constructabilityCoordinating submission of development applications to local councils and the state planning departmentEnsuring achievement of development consents and permits for constructionOverseeing installation of meteorological stations and wind mastsHanding over projects to the construction team after financial closePerforming other duties as required
