Job Title: Principal Power Systems Engineer
As a key member of our team, you will lead complex power system studies and modelling projects, driving technical direction across multiple initiatives and providing senior-level guidance to engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop advanced power system models using PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory, with a focus on data centre modelling in collaboration with industry partners.
Conduct offshore wind grid connection studies, ensuring compliance with Australian grid codes and industry requirements.
Manage the technical integration of new OEMs into the national energy market, coordinating with regulatory bodies for successful integration.
Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal teams to ensure industry standards and grid requirements are met.
Prepare and present detailed technical reports and recommendations to stakeholders.
Support project managers in proposals, bid preparation, and technical documentation.
Mentor and develop junior engineers, enhancing the team's technical capability.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in power systems engineering with a strong background in steady state, transient, and dynamic analysis.
Proven expertise in PSSE, PSCAD, and PowerFactory for system modelling and studies.
Demonstrated experience with industry processes, grid compliance, and national energy market connection requirements.
Hands-on involvement in offshore wind, renewable integration, and data centre grid connection projects.
Experience managing OEM integration into the national energy market.
Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, grid codes, and industry standards.
Track record of providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
