Deliver an increased strategic approach to the SEQ rail network

Essential to Queensland, Queensland Rail is dedicated to increasing rail patronage through improved reliability, frequency of services and making rail travel the transport mode of choice in Queensland. This role leads a team of approximately 5,200 staff and will provide leadership and strategic direction for the integrated operation, management and performance of Queensland Rail's South East Queensland business. You will report directly to the CEO and will ensure that high service standards are upheld in the effective design, maintenance and administration of above and below rail services, all South East Queensland network infrastructure, maintenance and construction, integrated planning and projects in South East Queensland, as well as the efficient and effective use of resources.
The Head of South East Queensland also oversees the management and operation of South East Queensland's passenger service, crewing and customer service to ensure continuous provision of efficient, reliable and high-level service operation for commuters. There is a strong emphasis and focus on the future of the business, and the enormity of new assets coming into Queensland Rail including Cross River Rail, new trains, and significant line duplications.
This role will allow you to flex both your operational skills as well as your strategic abilities as you focus on ensuring the day-to-day business operates without issue while ensuring that new technologies and assets are integrated as seamlessly as possible. You will enjoy being a strong contributor to the Executive Leadership team. Your role is a critical and influential role for the Queensland community and is critical to success for the overall organisation. Ensuring that your team delivers on time running is crucial for success. You will also work closely with the ELT to ensure that resources are maximised, shared and that your team contributes to the organisation overall.
