An exciting new role has become available at Montefiore for an experienced individual with a background as an assistant nurse with supervisory experience and a flexible and adaptable approach to their work.

**About the Role**:
A new model of support for residents living with dementia is currently being implemented at Montefiore.

Our new way of working with and supporting residents focuses on a home-like environment and home-like routines. We have upgraded our common living spaces to be more domestic in look and function and have also created unique staffing arrangements that focus on everyday patterns and roles.

You will effectively lead and supervise the Homemaker team to support people living with dementia, enabling them to participate in everyday activities to their best ability. As a supervisor you will coordinate and mentor staff ensuring the overall smooth running of the household, as well as providing direct care and support to residents.

The role is key to implementing Montefiore's Dementia Model and is supported by a capable and well-resourced inter-disciplinary team.

**What we require**:

- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with people with moderate to severe dementia
- Demonstrated initiative and leadership qualities
- High level organisation, planning, problem solving and negotiating skills
- An ability and interest to develop authentic and respectful relationships with residents, families, and staff
- Excellent verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills
- Cooking/meal preparation/presentation and service skills (in the context of a domestic environment)
- Understanding or experience with a food safety programme
- Understanding of infection control and food safety guidelines
- Minimum Certificate III qualification in Aged Care Work or equivalent
- A commitment, where the role requires, to undertake further studies and qualifications, including medication management
- Intermediate computer skills, including ability to input data to our client information management system, and utilising any relevant electronic systems

**Preferred**:

- Previous experience in a similar supervisory role
- First Aid Certificate
- Certificate IV qualification in aged care
- Household and recreational activity skills, such as light domestic tasks, games, gardening
- Working in a continuous improvement environment
