Job Description

A prestigious organisation is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead their Homemaker team. The successful candidate will have a background as an assistant nurse with supervisory experience and a flexible approach to work.

The Homemaker team supports individuals living with dementia, enabling them to participate in everyday activities to their best ability. As a supervisor, you will coordinate and mentor staff, ensuring the smooth running of the household and providing direct care and support to residents.

This role is key to implementing our organisation's Dementia Model, supported by a capable and well-resourced inter-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with people with moderate to severe dementia, leadership qualities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the Homemaker team
  • Coordinate and mentor staff
  • Provide direct care and support to residents
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of working with people with dementia
  • Leadership qualities and initiative
  • High-level organisation, planning, problem-solving, and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory role
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate IV qualification in aged care
