**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environment and Land Use Compliance Officer to join our team. The role is primarily responsible for providing an efficient and effective regulatory enforcement service that focuses on addressing all aspect of compliance matters/issues associated with environmental protection of existing development, building sites, illegal land use activities, tree removal and bushland clearing relative to the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Local Government Act 1993 and other statutory requirements and Council Policies.

**What you will be doing**:

- Investigate complaints and incidents of bushland clearing, illegal tree removal and breaches of DA consent conditions.
- Investigate residential, rural and commercial property complaints.
- Investigate unauthorised development, illegal building construction and land use complaints
- Carry out inspections, issue notices, orders, verbal cautions and penalty infringement notices.
- Investigate environmental pollution and illegal dumping incidents and offences under Protection of Environment Operations Act 1997.
- Provide compliance advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Enforce legislative, regulatory requirements and local policies as per Council's Enforcement Procedures Manual.
- Prepare statement of basic facts and contentions, inspection notes, technical reports and briefs of evidence.
- Prepare statements of evidence, affidavits and appear in Local or NSW Land and Environment Court.
- Contribute towards achievement of Individual and Team Key Performance Measures (KPM's) to achieve annual bonus.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Diploma/ Certificate IV in Town Planning, Environment Health or Building Surveying, law enforcement or related field.
- White Card - General Construction Induction
- Drivers Licence (Class C) - NSW

**Position details**:
Permanent full-time role, S0267 & S1113 Salary: Starting From $84K p.a. + Superannuation
