Badimia Bandi Barna Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a **Healthy Country Coordinator **who will have demonstrated, highly effective skills in project and people management.

**About the role**

The Badimia Bandi Barna Aboriginal Corporation (BBBAC) was established to represent the Badimia people, the custodians of Badimia traditional land, to promote and protect Badimia lore, language, land and culture. BBBAC promotes community enterprise, community development and the building of strong financial infrastructure for all Badimia people guided by our values.

The Badimia Healthy Country Coordinator will be responsible for the successful delivery of a Badimia Healthy Country Plan by working with the BBBAC and the Badimia community and in partnership with a range of stakeholders.

The Badimia Healthy Country Plan will support the Badimia vision: Our vision is to continue our healing journey on Barna (Country) while being acknowledged as the Traditional Owners, keeping the connections through our ancestors, sites, stories and the Bimarra for future generations.

The Healthy Country Coordinator is a key regional leadership position and will be responsible for collaboratively coordinating people, land management and ecological activities across Badimia Country and support program development of BBBAC's partnerships as well as community partnerships.

This position has been developed in collaboration between the BBBAC and Bush Heritage Australia. The position will be hosted by Bush Heritage Australia to assist in the support of the employee and the implementation of the Badimia Healthy Country Plan.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Highly advanced emotional competence with excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and demonstrated success in working effectively with a diverse range of people in a complex environment (e.g. staff, land holders and regional bodies, representatives of other organisations and at various levels of private, corporate and government)
- Commitment to and passion for caring for Country and the objectives and values of BBBAC
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people and communities and associated cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience working with mining sector, tourism operators, the pastoral sector and the development and maintenance of relationships with these stakeholders
- Proven experience in road works, fire management, weed work, feral control, infrastructure management & planning, project management, neighbour relations, basic machinery handling and maintenance
- Experience in effectively leading and managing staff including the capacity to manage contractors
- An applied knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety issues and practices, and a proven ability to manage risk
- A demonstrated high-level knowledge and understanding of project management practices and principles experience in project management - including oversight of contracts, budgets, partnership documents, grant preparation and reporting.
- High level of computer literacy and proficiency with computers including MS Office, spreadsheet, financial, GIS and data management software
- Experience working independently in remote and isolated environments with demonstrated 4WD driving skills and abilities including a valid driver's licence.
