We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being SA's largest maternity and obstetric service.

**The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) **is a free community-based tertiary mental health service provided through the WCHN across South Australia, providing care to those with severe and/or complex mental health needs. CAMHS provides services to: infants / children / young people up to 18 (16 in some areas) for community, statewide and hospital-based services / perinatal women.

**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Northern Metro Community team as a Social Worker in a **Full time, Ongoing** capacity.

As the Social Worker you are responsible for providing clinical expertise for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues. The Social Worker (CAMHS Therapist) primarily provides direct expert care for an individual or group of clients and/or providing clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff.

In this role of Social Worker (CAMHS Clinician) you will be responsible for the outcomes of clinical practice for children, adolescents and their families with mental health issues and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy. The CAMHS Clinician - Social Worker is responsible for ensuring optimal consumer care. The provision of assessment, education, counselling and group work is considered essential components of care which is directed towards the attainment of optimum consumer health and recovery. This involves consultation and liaison with other professional disciplines and non-governmental organisations.

**About You**

To be eligible you must have an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

To be successful in this role, you will use your ability to communicate and work with other professionals, facilitate group functions and work as a team member. You will be able to work with a high degree of responsibility with limited supervision and direction and you should be competent in communicating clearly in both written and verbal forms.

To be successful in this role you should have a sound demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within social work, including group work, including knowledge of developmental theory and knowledge of a variety of assessment and intervention models for working with children, adolescent and families.

If you have extensive clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues and the demonstrated ability to implement clinical assessments and interventions of a complex nature in relation to children and adolescents experiencing mental health issues, and their families using a range of theoretical models, then this role is for you.
