We are seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
As the peak body for independent schools in Queensland, the central focus of this Senior Advisor role will be in assisting member schools with initial strategic planning, negotiation, drafting and approval of Enterprise Agreements in an industrial environment where the relevant union/s are key stakeholders.
As a Senior Advisor, you will also be required to provide both written and telephone advice and assistance to School leaders on a full range of Employee Relations matters ranging from compliance with the Fair Work Act, managing underperformance and misconduct, Award and Enterprise Agreement compliance, managing change and restructures, and ill and injured workers.
Due to assistance with enterprise bargaining being a key responsibility of the role, the ability to visit member schools for bargaining meetings is essential.
The successful candidate is expected to be comfortable dealing with a wide range of people at all levels. It is expected that, as a member of the small ER team, you will quickly develop a strong rapport with the leadership teams of ISQ members and other key stakeholders such as officials of relevant unions.

About you
Essential skills and experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience as an Employee Relations Specialist with a comprehensive knowledge of relevant workplace relations legislation.
Demonstrated ability in negotiating, drafting and approval of enterprise agreements in unionised environments.
Demonstrated ability in providing high quality expert consultancy services, with a strong emphasis on leading and managing all aspects of workplace relations matters.
High levels of credibility, integrity and trust;
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, together with drafting ability and presentation skills;
The ability to provide clear and accurate written advice to members on complex employee relations issues.
The ability to work autonomously on specific projectsas well as being comfortable working in a team environment; and
Present a professional image and enjoy interacting with others.
Knowledge of and experience working in the education sector.
Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or Law.
