Overview
NHS Fife Older Adult Community Mental Health Services
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Older Adult Community Mental Health Team East Fife. We welcome applications from highly motivated individuals with a background in working with older adults with mental illness to join us as a community health care support worker.
Responsibilities
Engage with patients to support recovery and personal outcomes, with knowledge and experience of health and wellbeing issues in older adults with mental illness.
Work autonomously in patients' homes across East Fife, handling challenging situations and appreciating the diversity of the workload.
Hold your own caseload and support community mental health nurses, who will provide direction to deliver programmes of care.
Demonstrate good awareness of local services and resources to optimise care provision. Maintain high standards of quality of care.
Qualifications and requirements
Background in working with older adults with mental illness.
Ability to engage with patients to support recovery and personal outcomes.
Proactive, positive approach; good communication skills; able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to use IT systems such as Microsoft Office and Morse.
Travel across a large geographical area in a timely manner.
Induction and supervision; expected to work towards SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care (or already achieved).
PVG Scheme membership before appointment.
Right to work in the United Kingdom; sponsorship considerations as described below.
Additional information
Working pattern: office hours Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00, with potential weekend work in the future.
