Assistant Accountant - CBD - Real EstateOur client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll and month-end processes.
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller the Assistant Accountant will be responsible across the transactional accounting along with Month End and Year End reporting.

The Assistant Accountant supports the finance function by ensuring the accurate and timely management of core accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, project cost tracking, financial reporting, and month-end processes.
This position requires strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and an ability to contribute effectively within a high-pressure and fast-paced Real Estate environment.
Key Areas of Responsibility Daily maintenance of all debtors and creditors.
Tenants' arrears management, conducting daily debtors review as required.
Liaising with debtors, completing reconciliations and enforcement for non- compliance.
Ensure compliance with Debt Collection.
Maintaining and completion of associated weekly and monthly reports.
Daily banking, daily tenant receipting, daily cash book update and update weekly cash reports books.
Processing of invoices for authorization, including preparation of cheque vouchers.
Enter authorized invoices for payment in MRI.
Set up suppliers ID's in MRI as required.
Process and track monthly cheque runs Posting of credit cheques and filing documentation.
Supply Head Office with payroll summary on weekly basis.
Maintain leave records.
Assist in compilation of yearly budgets.
Monitoring department expenditure with department of marketing and operation Financial Statements Process daily receipting of tenant payments; manage invoicing, recharges, adjustments, and credits Prepare weekly and monthly payroll timesheets Oversee accounts payable: invoice entry, cheque creation, deposits, remittances, and tracker updates Reconcile tenant/vendor accounts and issue monthly statements Handle banking tasks, including EFT payment Communicate with tenants and vendors Apply monthly credits and offsets to tenant accounts Generate ad hoc reports for managers and directors Create weekly cash balance reports Reporting & Compliance Assist with tax calculations (GST, FBT, Payroll Tax) and lodgments Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.
Provide support in processing payroll during the Payroll Officer's absence Key Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceEssential 2–3 years of experience in accounting as an Assistant Accountant Foundation knowledge of debits/credits, compliance, and basic financial reporting.
Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, basic formulas).
Experience with CHEOPS software highly advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
Desirable Enrolled in or working toward CPA or CA.
