
Maintenance & Shutdown Planner

We are looking for an experienced **Maintenance and Shutdown Planner/Contractor Supervisor** to join our team at Bulwer Island, Brisbane.
You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing weekly maintenance activities to ensure equipment availability and KPI improvements. You will provide support to our Project Manager in Project Engineering solutions to help deliver projects on time and on budget, as well as end to end planning of the annual plant shutdown activities and manage the effective execution of those shutdowns.
**About the role**:
As our Maintenance and Shutdown Planner, you will:
- Coordinate, control and ensure the implementation of QHS&E plans, JSAs and Work Method Statements during weekly work activities, ensuring all safety documents are correctly completed and safety observations are undertaken frequently
- Participate in site safety performance to meet targets
- Provide SHE support through planning and scheduling of work to ensure KPI's are achieved
- Ensure all contractors engaged for services comply with site safety requirements
- Lead the planning process for the weekly maintenance activities and support the execution of the weekly maintenance activities
- Support the maintainer operators to ensure equipment is inspected and maintained to an appropriate level
- Lead the closing out of planned work to ensure the accuracy of the maintenance KPI's
- Lead the Annual Maintenance Shutdown activities and ensure a detailed Shutdown review is conducted to initiate the next Shutdown Planning activities. Manage Shutdown activities during the execution phase
- Engineering support to ensure effective site projects planning and execution
- Participate in, and support Reliability Engineer initiatives to ensure effective maintenance management systems and process utilisation
- Manage third party contractors ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures, allocating maintenance and shutdown work with a high focus on contractor cost control
- Promote the culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve plant, process and people performance
- Provide support and resources for plant breakdowns
- Continuously review accountable areas BOM's and ensure inventory holdings are optimised
**About you**:
- Trade qualified (desirable)
- Project Management/Maintenance planner qualification (desirable)
- Proven maintenance planning experience preferably within the heavy manufacturing or mining industry
- High level of mechanical aptitude
- Project management experience of site shutdowns
- SAP experience
- MS Projects experience
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
- Previous experience controlling budgets
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence & negotiate others
