**Our team is rapidly growing and we're on the hunt for a brand-new Chief Operating Officer** to join our team and help our company to achieve our big, audacious goals to transform the plant-based and alternative protein sector.

This Canberra-based role will suit an agile, solutions focused COO who can thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment and who has experience turning strategy into operational excellence. On a day-to-day basis, you'll work with the Executive Management team to create, implement, and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructure, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within Nourish. Your commercial acumen will enable you to partner with the CEO on all operational and strategic issues and as his trusted advisor you will be his eyes and ears on the ground, raising any issues or concerns with confidence.

**In addition, the COO will**:

- Work with the CEO, Executive team, and board in developing and executing an implementation plan for the strategic growth of the organisation and setting up the company for scale.
- Be a dedicated leader with a 'people first' mindset, demonstrating empathy and a high level self-awareness and relationship management skills.
- Lead and champion Nourish's approach to financial management, ensuring that resources are effectively managed to enable the delivery of funding goals.
- Work with the CEO and CFO in the capital raise process, participate in the company's road shows. Meet, interact and present information effectively to potential investors and private equity firms.
- Ensure that all employees, including senior management, maintain good governance and appropriate record systems in accordance with company policies, and monitor the use of all funds.
- Lead the Finance, Facilities, Legal, Marketing, Regulatory and Commercial functions.
- Develop and lead high performing, cross-functional teams through coaching and mentoring and guide larger multidisciplinary teams outside of direct span of control.
- Establish policies and procedures that promote Nourish's culture and vision through its operations to enhance teamwork, improve brand awareness and increase the bottom line.

**You have**:

- MBA or bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred
- Experience managing operational functions for a start-up or mid-sized organisation and a demonstrated commitment to the alternative protein industry with a passion for Nourish's mission is essential.
- At least 10 years' experience in a COO or similar role managing a team of multi-disciplinary functions
- Strong analytical and business development skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- A hands-on managerial style with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
- Strong commitment to developing team members
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and experience to work effectively, and to establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, collaborators, and clients.

**It would be great, but not essential, if you also had**:
Understanding about meat and dairy processing, meat and dairy plant-based products is highly desirable.
