The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Principal Technical Officer to support the Battlespace Communications System (BCS) team, helping progress the enhancement, integration, test and verification of the rugged, deployable, land-based communication system developed by Boeing. **Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the Execution Leads on the BCS team to identify objectives of the Mission System Integration and Test Events (MSITEs)
- Lead and support a team of technical officers to manage and deploy the equipment and facilities for the MSITEs and the System Integration Facility (SIF)
- Ensure facilities and resources are planned and ready for the MSITEs and SIF
- Lead OpSec for the BCS team and champion best practice
- Contribute to systems development with unique operational and technical insights
- Drive a strong continuous improvement mindset
Experience/Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Leadership skills and ability to work effectively within a group environment and with people across all organisational levels
- Understanding of the Australian Defence Force, including but not limited to the Defence Organisational Structure, Defence Project Management and Defence Equipment Management
- Thorough understanding of Defence Communication Equipment Management (CCI and COMSEC)
