An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join the team at FINE-DAY.

Reporting to the Creative Director, this role is responsible for the managing, designing, developing, and ranging of product in line with the brand vision.
- Please note: This is a Fixed Term Contract of 12 months_

**THE ROLE**:

- Prepare mood boards, themes, color palettes, and graphic concepts, and present them to the Creative Director for discussion and approval.
- Lead the design team in developing, designing, and managing products in alignment with our brand values, ensuring cohesion of color, materials, and styling across all categories.
- Assist in finding and onboarding new suppliers, in collaboration with the sourcing department.
- Maintain a strong awareness of the competitive market and industry trends.
- Attend and actively participate in fit sessions, including providing direction on fit comments.
- Negotiate the best possible costs with factories, suppliers, and agents to achieve gross profit targets.
- Analyse weekly sales reports to determine best sellers, sell-through rates, and identify problematic styles.
- Identify and communicate opportunities to promote products in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Undertake overseas buying and sourcing trips as required.
- Conduct store visits, supplier appointments, and competitive shopping when necessary.

**THE REQUIREMENTS**
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or similar role within the fashion industry.
- Strong knowledge of design principles, trends, and garment construction.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in using design software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
