A unique Consulting opportunity currently exists within our JLT public sector business to assist with Safety Management Systems and general WHS Advice for the Member Councils of the Local Government Workcare Self-Insurance Scheme (LGW).

JLT's Public Sector in Queensland operates under a long term contract with the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) to manage LGW and provides financial management, WH&S, rehabilitation and claims management services to LGW's 65 member Councils and their employees throughout Queensland. The LGAQ is a licenced self
- insurer under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003.

We are based in Brisbane, but consideration will be given to applicants who do not reside in Brisbane although successful applicant will be required in Brisbane for a period of time during on-boarding and for ongoing team interactions.

**We will count on you to**:

- Provide clients with strategic and operational solutions to health, safety and wellbeing
- Develop and/or review safety management system components for clients
- Review legislative and best practice requirements and compiling awareness/training packages
- Ensure accuracy and adequacy of information published on the LGW website
- Work as part of a team for key client projects through a variety of targeted initiatives.

**What you need to have**:

- Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or a related discipline.
- Experience with the development and implementation of safety management systems.
- Experience working under a Self-Insurance model including experience with working under the National Audit Tool, preferred but not essential.
- Current Queensland White or Blue Construction Safety Induction Card
- Current QLD Drivers Licence is required at all times
- Be a solution focused thinker with the ability to deliver operational outcomes for our clients
- Ability to engage, influence and motivate through well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (including ability to tailor communications to suit a broad range of clients)
- Ability to foster and sustain client relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage own workload and competing priorities to meet deadlines
- Travel within Queensland will be required.
