Your Opportunity

As the IT Technical Specialist you will actively participate in an ICT second level support team in the provision of client solutions and incident resolution. (SFIA Level 4 - PBMG)

The IT Technical Specialist reports to the Nominated Supervisor, Information and Technologies Branch, People, Information and Communication Services Division.

Your Responsibilities

As the IT Technical Specialist, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Provide or coordinate training for DoE executives and their support staff on newly released technology and systems.
Handle sensitive information and data discreetly and in accordance with DoE policy.
Maintain best practices in ICT service delivery and support by keeping up to date with the latest technologies in the IT industry and conducting research to identify potential benefits for the department.
Assist with operational responses to emerging needs in collaboration with the team leader and senior managers, including supporting Level 1 Support Teams when required.
Contribute to the development of documentation and knowledge articles for operational infrastructure changes and new initiatives.
Develop reports on the progress of initiatives and events, and respond to related issues as they arise.
Communicate on behalf of the agency with clients and other relevant groups, focusing on key points and using appropriate language.

Due to the nature of the role there will be a requirement to primarily work onsite at the Department of Education inner city offices.
