Your Role

You will be responsible for meeting production and profitability targets by underwriting new business, endorsement changes or renewals within the Personal Lines Department and also build relationships with new producers whilst continuing to service existing producers.

**Your Responsibilities**:
Evaluate, accept or decline new business, endorsements or renewal business based on underwriting guidelines

Collate underwriting information and refer risks outside the scope of authorities issued or the underwriting guidelines to the Unit Manager with recommendations

Where applicable, establish and build new relationships with potential producers (or refer to DUs) who have prospective business that meets our underwriting guidelines

Assist brokers, colleagues and managers with product and business queries

Assist members of the appraisal section and claims department with any queries

Work with staff members in other departments to identify cross marketing opportunities as and when required

**Qualifications**:
Your Skills & Experience

Demonstrated underwriting skills (Personal Lines products is desirable)

Understanding of the appraisal services, policy practice and documentation

Demonstrated negotiation and marketing skills

Strong written and oral communication, including a professional phone manner
