An exciting opportunity for a Financial Control and Group Reporting Manager has opened up within our Financial Operations business unit in Barangaroo. This role will deliver on financial accounting and reporting activities with the support of our various offshore teams, and drive the delivery and quality of financial reports (monthly, quarterly annual) to meet set timelines for entity/areas of responsibility. It will also provide first line commentary and analysis of variances and drivers, provide supervision of offshore teams', and implement changes in financial processes and drive efficiencies/enhancements to the control environment. It also leads delivery of Statutory Accounts and liaison with external auditors and provide oversight of offshore teams' activities including the performance of control activities (e.g. balance sheet reconciliation processes, nostros, Expected Credit Losses, Fusion.) and support governance requirements including board papers, Third Party Engagement.**Responsibilities**:

- Own the period end close process - ensuring all pre-month-end activities are completed by the teams
- Delivery of monthly control activities e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, journal approvals
- Deliver commentary over all phases
- Oversight of all reporting for business entity prepared by the GRCA team
- Oversight of nostro and IFRS16 activities - including completeness checks, escalation point
- Delivery of annual financial statements and day to day liaison with external audit
- Implement changes in financial processes in response to Business demands (new product/processes) and drive efficiencies / enhancements to control environment
Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or a related discipline) with Post Graduate Qualifications preferred.
- 5+ years direct experience in financial accounting function including deep technical accounting skills including exposure to IFRS, GAAP and statutory accounting.
- A strong understanding of risks and controls over financial reporting.
- A thorough understanding of banking products and the reporting requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure, with strong organisational skills and the ability to deliver on tight deadlines with accuracy and speed.
- Understanding of data flow between Local / Regional / Group Systems into Local / Regional / Group Management Information Systems is preferred.
- A high level of numeracy and advanced skills in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in working with large data sets.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate at senior and executive management levels and across geographies.
