The Role
Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Officer to support and drive the overall Patties Quality strategy within Pakenham Operations on our afternoon shift team.
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor and working closely with the site operations team, the key purpose of the role is to support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the quality assurance & food safety program onsite so the processes can continue to meet and exceed customer expectations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Educating and engaging production staff regarding GMP requirements and quality standards around production lines
Conducting daily checks & line-walks on production lines to ensure CCPs, QCPs, and X-Ray checks are met
Conducting GMP Audits and internal audits to verify quality & production processes
Assisting the quality manager with internal and external audits
Maintaining site document control and procedures to ensure compliance with established practices and standards
Providing food safety and quality training to production staff
Verifying that staff training levels are sufficient in food production and that personnel responsible for food safety have the appropriate skills and knowledge
Investigating non-conformances and conducting root-cause analysis
Advising production and management on quality performance and systems
The Person
To succeed in this role, you will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in quality compliance and manufacturing environment is desirable.
You should have:
At least 3 years' experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry
Initiative and energy to deliver within deadlines
A strong passion for quality and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Confidence and skills to drive a quality culture and support operational processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
