**The Company**

Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is changing to meet the evolving needs of grain growers with a vision to be regarded as the grower's "RD&E department." **The Role**

GRDC is seeking a
**General Manager Applied Research, Development & Extension**, responsible for the management and leadership of the Applied RD&E business Group. The Group is accountable for developing and implementing strategy & investment programs for the discipline areas of Grower Relations, crop protection, sustainability, GHG emissions, agronomy, farming systems, soils and nutrition. Their focus through extension and adoption is to enable GRDC to deliver on its purpose of "Investing in RD&E to create enduring profitability for Australian grain growers."

The
**General Manager Applied Research, Development & Extension** is an integral member of the GRDC Executive Committee with key responsibilities being:

- Management and leadership of staff, budgets & activities associated with the Applied RD&E Business Group
- Providing high-level strategic advice to the MD, the Executive Committee and Board relating to GRDC delivering on its purpose
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with current and prospective domestic and international public and private research partners

**The Person**

This high profile and key leadership position in the Australian grains industry requires the following:

- Post-graduate qualifications and/or extensive experience in management of RD&E, either in a commercial or public sector environment (ideally with exposure to the key discipline areas)
- Proven ability to influence, motivate & develop others, with demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring & developing large teams
- Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships both externally and internally
- Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and presentation skills at the highest level
- Well-developed commercial and financial acumen
- High levels of resilience
