The role will lead on the design, and creation of learning resources, and support the development of an enhanced digital learning offer.
This is a permanent position with a starting salary of £32,255Contract type: PermanentLocation: Longmore House, Edinburgh (with hybrid working)Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week (with occasional evening and weekend work)The Learning and Inclusion Team sits within the Outreach and Learning Department.
Our aim is to inspire and support practitioners, educators, communities, and learners to see the historic environment as a national resource that can be used creatively to meet their learning needs.
We do this by supporting access, creating engaging content, and delivering projects and programmes inspired by our sites, collections, archives, and expertise.
Working in partnership is key to achieving this and enables us to reach out to groups who would not normally have an opportunity to engage with heritage.The Learning Producer role leads on the development, design, and creation of learning resources, and supports the development of an enhanced digital learning offer.
The portfolio includes access-focused resources that support core services, and development and production of learning resources that are inspired by and maximise use of the cultural and heritage assets of HES to enhance our offer.
Partnerships are key to achieving this and the Learning Producer will work collaboratively with team members and with other HES teams, as well as with a range of external partners, to enable inclusive learning engagement with heritage for diverse learning audiences.The post is based in Edinburgh but some travel to sites/meetings elsewhere, which may also involve occasional overnight stays, will be required.
Occasional weekend and/or evening work may be required to support audience-focused programmes, or to represent HES at selected events.
It is a condition of appointment that the post holder is cleared to work with children and vulnerable adults by joining the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme, administered by Disclosure Scotland.
Historic Environment Scotland will cover the cost of this.
However, it is Historic Environment Scotland policy that no staff, volunteers or contractors should be entrusted with the sole supervision of a child, young person or vulnerable adult at any time.The deadline is Monday 08 September 2025 at 12:00.
