Level D/E (subject to experience) $168,146 to $215,774 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.

The University of Adelaide is seeking a senior academic to provide leadership in research and education in the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences. The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher in pure mathematics with strong plans for future research and broad experience in teaching and postgraduate supervision. In January 2026, the mathematics teams of the foundation universities will join in a new School of Mathematical Sciences. The joint team's research strengths in pure mathematics include differential geometry, noncommutative geometry, complex geometry, partial differential equations, complex and harmonic analysis, and mathematical physics. The team is committed to educational quality and pedagogical innovation and is excited to be offering new and innovative coursework programs in 2026.
To be successful you will need:
Record of research excellence in pure mathematics with recent high-quality publications and strong plans for future research
Demonstrated ability to win significant research funding
Demonstrated ability and broad experience in teaching, with a record of successful curriculum development and pedagogical innovation
Ability and willingness to provide leadership and contribute to the strategic direction of the School
Commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion
Record of research excellence and leadership in pure mathematics with recent high-quality publications and strong plans for future research
Demonstrated ability to win significant and sustained research funding
Demonstrated ability and broad experience in teaching, with a record of successful curriculum development and pedagogical innovation
Record of academic leadership and contributions to strategic development
