We are looking for an experienced local Dental Assistant to work with our Paediatric Dentist in clinic and also under General Anaesthesia.

**Treatments performed**:

- Extractions
- Space maintainers
- Stainless Steel Crowns
- Fillings
- Pulp treatments
- Anterior composite crowns
- Preventative treatments including cleans and fissure seals

**About You**:
You must hold a min Certificate III in Dental Assisting and current vaccination records in order to be registered to work onsite at a Hospital.

Your calm nature and ability to be positive in stressful situations is your key attribute.
- **Experience as a Dental Assistant**_ is important for this role however we will provide training specific to paediatric treatments, hospital infection control practices, and the overall operational duties in a hospital setting as well as in-house training for clinical note taking, coordination of paediatric specific gear including consumables, diary monitoring and patient post care.

Your _minimum 2 years dental assisting experience_ will ensure success for this role. Your ability to be adaptable, organised in advance and patient with children are your key attributes.

Travel will be requested in Brisbane for General Anaesthesia sessions.

**The Role**:
This is a hands on role that requires the ability to be adaptable in a setting that is often stressful for parents and their children about to undergoe dental treatment in chair and/or General Anaesthesia.

There are multiple aspects to this role including preparing daily huddles with Paediatric Dentisty, admission and care papers, instruments and general consumables, preparing the room for treatment plus working alongside an already established and experienced team in the hospital setting.

Examples include:

- following strict infection control practices
- hands on for dental treatments
- updating treatment notes/codes under the guidance of dentist using technology software
- updating the reception team of relevant aspects of the day
- change over between patients
- preparation for treatments
- arranging the reprocessing of instruments to the hospitals sterilisation room
- being accountable for end of day instrument counts
- informing of consumables required to be restocked before next session
