We are looking for a Dental Assistant to work with our Paediatric Dentist under General Anaesthesia at Ipswich Day Hospital on a Monday on an ongoing fortnigthly basis.

Dr Soha Sharif has 14 years experience specialising in the care of children. She offers a diverse range of treatments under General Anaesthesia at the Ipswich Day Hospital for children from as young as 2 years old.

**Treatments performed**:

- Extractions
- Space maintainers
- Stainless Steel Crowns
- Fillings
- Pulp treatments
- Anterior composite crowns
- Preventative treatments including cleans and fissure seals

**About You**:
You must hold a min Certificate III in Dental Assisting and current vaccination records in order to able to be registered to work onsite at Ipswich Day Hospital.

Your calm nature and ability to be positive in stressful situations is your key attribute.

Experience as a Dental Assistant is important for this role however we will provide training specific to paediatric treatments, hospital infection control practices, and the overall operational duties in a hospital setting.

**The Role**:
This is a hands on role that requires the ability to be adaptable in a setting that is often stressful for parents and their children about to undergoe General Anaesthesia.

Our clinical team will pre-prepare all aspects of admissions, instruments and general consumables prior to each session therefore your role would be to support Dr Soha in the General Anasthesia session alongside an experienced team at the hospital. This includes:

- following strict infection control practices
- hands on for dental treatments
- updating treatment notes/codes via Praktika under the guidance of Dr Soha
- updating the reception team via Skype
- change over between patients
- preparation for treatments
- arranging the reprocessing of instruments to the hospitals sterilisation room
- being accountable for end of day instrument counts ready to be returned to the main clinic
- informing Dr Soha of consumables required to be restocked before next session

**Salary**: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
