Histology Technician

**Gastro Health** is currently looking for a detail-oriented Histology Technician to join our team

Here are some of the duties you will be responsible for:

- Process and prepare tissue in an accurate and timely fashion for gross and microscopic examination.
- Identify and log specimens, assist the pathologist in preparation of tissue specimens for gross examination and help gross specimens as needed.
- Will perform routine histology, special stains on designated slides, and assist in quality control.
- Will write policies and procedures according to State Regulations and for laboratory/pathology accordingly.
- Will perform preventive maintenance on equipment and logs and will keep all records according to State Regulations.
- This position will also include some clerical work such as maintaining op-reports, pathology reports, filing information and slides, and calling other facilities for ally special needs as required.
- Maintain and order supplies as needed. Provide administrative support for the physician and/or care center provider.

**Applicants will be considered based on successful completion of one of the following**:

- An accredited Histotechnology Program in HTL/ASCP
- Eligible ASCP certification in Histology
- Previous general laboratory experience preferred
